This March, UWM alum, Eric Hayot (Modern Studies Ph.d., ’99), returned to campus to give a C21 talk.  Those who attended the talk got an opportunity to think about literary worlds, comparative practices, and historical time.  But the talk also provided an opportunity to think about the rich history of the center.  Eric – now an Associate Professor of comparative literature at Penn State – used to be a project assistant here at C21.  Before his lecture, he talked to Nigel Rothfels – currently the Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research – who was Assistant Director of C21, and, of course, the editor of Representing Animals (2002), a selection of essays from the center’s 2000 conference.
